Reasons

I have really been thinking about the "reason" for stuff. Like the statement "When bad things happen to good people" . People always say there is a reason for everything. I wonder how often we really know the reason or if we just think we know that reason that makes sense to us. The last 7 months have been a hard time for me to find a "reason" for my friend's accident. The "reason" her life was saved, but the "reason" she is not better yet. God does have a lesson for us and a reason for everything. We as humans may not understand that for now. But we can pray for help with understanding and we can read his word to find understanding. I am not the first person to think this nor will I be the last. Kids think we adults have all the answers for the big stuff but we don't. We need to show our kids that we are just like them and we don't understand everthing. That we turn to God for answers on stuff all the time. I think that will help them follow our example and turn to God for answers not to the wrong person.
Hey maybe that is the reason .....

Wow, you are living in that question every day aren't you? God is in control, however that doesn't mean we will always UNDERSTAND why things are happening. That is when our faith can grow by leaps and bounds. If we are able to trust God when we don't understand what he's doing then we are telling him something that words cannot express. This is a huge lesson we can teach our kids, you're right. If we walk around like we understand God in every way we are doing a huge injustice to them. That's what trust and faith are all about to me. I think you will come out of this situation with Colleen understanding a whole lot more about God than you ever thought possible :)

I do not think you will understand why until you meet Jesus in Heaven why this happened to Colleen but what you are doing is teaching her children unconditional love. You are teaching your children to reach out to those in need. You are teaching a community to have faith in God and to look to him for strength without having to understand. You may not have any answers but you are answering what God is calling you to do and that is to love his people when they need it the most. Even an awnry little 13 year old boy who want to try your patience while his mother cannot do a thing about it! You will be loved always by these boys more then you can ever imagine! God understands!!!!!!
